One Yoga Book Club: Seeds of Justice

We believe in the transformative power of yoga, not only as a physical practice, but as one that has the power to transform us individually so we can minimize the harm we cause and contribute positively to the world around us. This is Ahimsa, non-violence.

Our book club, Seeds of Justice, is designed to be a safe and inclusive space for exploring themes related to racial and social justice through the lens of yoga and mindfulness practices. Our intention is to foster meaningful conversations, inspire self-reflection, and collectively move toward a more just and compassionate world that is not for justice but rooted in justice. This offering will be held monthly on the 4th Monday of every month at 7:30pm.

What to Expect:

Book Discussions: Each month, we will delve into thought-provoking literature that addresses racial and social justice issues, mindfulness, and inclusivity. Our book discussions will be a platform for sharing insights, experiences, and perspectives.

Mindful Practices: Our meetings will integrate various yoga and mindfulness practices, including meditation, asana sequences, pranayama techniques, yoga nidra, and other restorative practices. These sessions are designed to support your personal journey and provide practical tools for navigating the complexities of social justice.

Community Connection: We embrace the diversity within our community and aim to create a welcoming space where all voices are heard and valued. This book club provides an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and collectively contribute to positive change.

The first book will be "The Inner Work of Racial Justice" by Rhonda V. Magee. When you register for the workshop the suggested chapters will be sent.

Regardless of who you are, what you look like, or whom you love, creating a space for everybody is very important. Society places many expectations and roles as to how, what, when, where, and why you are doing something instead of simply being. Through conscious movement connected to breath, you have an opportunity to learn how to be in this moment. Yoga is an opportunity to create, rediscover, and connect to the experience of being human and overcome the obstacles that stand in your path. I invite you to join me.
